What the client needed
She had been filming every week for three months, so there were no new posts. The new series was about to be announced, and the press and the TV network would soon visit her account.
This is common for: People whose work takes all their time for weeks, like actors between productions, musicians in the studio and models on long shoots.
She had not posted for five weeks, because she was busy filming. Her account still had all her followers, and it only paused while she worked.
That is a normal thing to happen and an expensive thing to leave alone, because the people deciding whether to cast her were looking at the account while she was not.
What we did
We made a plan of three short posts a week, which she could manage during filming. We added steady likes and saves to each post from the first day. We also added a small, even number of followers, so the numbers grew together with her posts and never jumped.
Why we chose this plan
She already had many followers, so a big new number was not the goal. The goal was to show new activity on her account before people started to visit it.
Before and after
We measured this over eight weeks before the announcement.
* This is a real case. To keep the client private, we changed the numbers by up to 10% on purpose, so nobody can find the account. The client agreed to let us publish this case study.
We publish every case study with the client's permission, and we never name anyone who did not ask to be named. We're happy to look at your account too.
